Meyersdale underwent a major streetscape improvement in 2009-10 and new entrepreneurs are changing the face of business in town.

Meyersdale : Overview

Mile 32 on the Great Allegheny Passage

Meyersdale is near the Eastern Continental Divide, the high point of the trail. It is the closest PA Trail Town to the impressive Big Savage Tunnel and the Maryland state border.  Its rich agricultural history has shaped the community for decades.  As host of the Pennsylvania Maple Festival for over 60 years, the town is locally heralded as the “sweetest place on earth.” Other favorite events are the Somerset County Fair each August and A Maple City Christmas in November.

Visitors to the “Maple City” will find a full range of businesses in a town surrounded by scenic vistas and a selection of impressive rail structures along the Great Allegheny Passage.  A streetscape improvement project that was six years in the making was recently widely celebrated.  Business investors will find an idyllic small town and welcoming community.
