Erie to Pittsburgh
The Erie to Pittsburgh Trail is a developing network of trails that when connected will the Lake Erie bayfront to the Point in downtown Pittsburgh.
Efforts of the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail Alliance are working to close the gaps and connect major portions of the lengthy system. Crossing through six Pennsylvania counties and one in New York, at this time about 65% of trail is open between the two end points of the network. Currently the most contiguous potion of the trail is from Titusville to Foxburg with a three mile gap between Emlenton and Foxburg. This section of trail flows along the Wild & Scenic Allegheny River and Oil Creek State Park and is known as the “Valley that Changed the World” with the discovery and wealth of oil production.
