Trails in this region were long being built, but it was a result of the 2011 RTC Rail Trail Sojourn that led to the creation of the Trans Allegheny Trails System. Trail builders are now working together to market and connect a mix of level and terrain trails, creating a unique riding experience across bridges and river valleys.
