Summary of Recent Trail Counts along the Erie to Pittsburgh

Earlier this fall, trail counts took place in several of the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail Towns. Counts included zip code collection to get a picture of where trail users where coming from. Mon Wharf Switchback

The Mon Warf Switchback is a much anticipated and in demand project along the riverbank of the Monongahela River. The switchback would connect cyclist from Point State Park to the Great Allegheny Passage, the Smithfield Street Bridge, and the Eliza Furnace Trail. Introducing the Industrial Heartland Trails Coalition

The Industrial Heartland Trails Coalition is a collective group of organization working to complete 1,600 miles of trails in Maryland, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. This coalition has formed from the prior Power of 32 Initiative starting with 32 counties and expanding to 53. Trails have emerged as regional priority to stimulate regional economies.
